About
Deliberate. Methodical. More than 38 years playing in the various fields of moving art: Screenplays, Books, and Film. Don Okolo possesses the nuanced, hard-to-find talent of finessing particular genres into a gorgeous panoply of exquisiteness.
Evidenced in the feature-length film and the 2019 Houston Film Festival Award-winner, LONESTAR DECEPTION , Don Okolo wrote and directed the film, POUND OF FLESH, an award-winning original at the 2015 Canada International Film Festival for RISING STAR. The vast open range of the art world is his playing field. He teaches Creative Writing and aspects of Film at Texas Southern University in Houston.
Don Okolo is a prolific author and a masterful storyteller with a unique prose style. Ten books and counting in several genres, including those scintillating, fiery interpretations of those in the realm of God: YESHUA, MY LOVE; YESHUA, MY LORD; and MARY, THE MOTHER OF GOD. Other searing confections include crime novels, like BLUE MARTINI and JAMES HADLEY CHASE. From his stable are books like BLOOD OF LEGENDS, an African vampire tale like no other; and the quintessential ghost story, TWELVE MILLION NIGHTS, Okolo’s most-daring, spitfire tale about Jamaica’s notorious Black Widow: Anne Palmer.
